Wave run-up on sloping structures

Background information
Basic equation used is from Hunt

in which Ru is the 2% run-up on a smooth slope and Hs is the significant wave height. As usual

Van der Meer [1993] has adapted this formula to:

in which the standard deviation of the measurements can be included:

The value u follows from the normal distribution. For standard design an exceedence of 10% is recommended, which results in a value of u = 1.28.
