Seiches
With this calculation rule the average flow caused by seiches, the resulting flow caused
by breaking waves and the flow in rivers and canals are calculated. In addition
the rule is used to calculate the associated water depth for rivers and canals.
Equations used:

in which:
a: amplitude of the seiche [m]
h: average water depth [m]
Ls: wave length of a seiche [m]
umax: maximum horizontal velocity at location x from the uiteinde /outer end (wall) of the harbour basin [m/s]
x: position coordinate calculated from a crest/buik (e.g. end of the harbour basin) [m]
